Bank Tejarat Hits 20th Straight Rising Session and a 795-Billion-Toman Buy Queue, Still Trading 27% Below Book Value (Tuesday, August 25, 2026)
Bank Tejarat (وتجارت) closed Monday, August 24 at a 52-week high of 901 rials, its 20th consecutive rising session, then rose another 3% to 928 rials today, Tuesday, August 25, closing locked in a buy queue worth roughly 795 billion tomans. Yet under its audited Codal financial statement, the stock still trades about 27% below book value; it is up 59% over one month and 187% over one year.
Transcript
Bank Tejarat closed its twentieth straight rising session today, still locked in a buy queue. About eight and a half billion shares sat unmatched in that queue at the close. The stock climbed from a fifty two week low of three hundred five rials to nine hundred twenty eight today. Retail investors bought today while institutions sold over two billion shares. This is not unique to Bank Tejarat; fourteen of fifteen listed banks gained this month. Its price to earnings ratio is now nearly one point seven times the banking sector average. Sahmino found no fresh material disclosure from Bank Tejarat on Codal in the past month. Yet its price to book ratio is still under one, meaning it trades below book value. Tehran's main index also hit a fresh record today, up about two percent. The run stretches from the stock's May reopening, through its low, to today's queue. Here is the key point; despite a hundred eighty seven percent yearly gain, it is still below book value. If the queue holds, the price could rise further; if institutions keep selling, it could reverse. Watch whether the queue holds, the valuation gap narrows, and other banks catch up. The full story is on Sahmino dot com; does this rally have more room, or is it a bubble.
