Iran attacked two ADNOC ships in the Strait of Hormuz Thursday evening, and that news made your gold pricier today. Brent crude jumped into the eighty eight dollar range, up about one point seven percent from the prior close. The UAE called it piracy, the second attack on ADNOC ships in a week. Domestic gold and the Emami coin got pricier today, even though global gold and Bitcoin both slipped. Domestic gold does not just track the global ounce, it also tracks the dollar and a domestic risk premium. Tehran's bourse and the free dollar market are closed today, the last TEDPIX print is from Tuesday. Brent and WTI both rose today and are on track for a weekly gain near four percent. Nearly one fifth of the world's oil passes through the Strait of Hormuz, so any incident there moves the global price. If tension in Hormuz continues, oil is likely to keep a high risk premium. In crypto, Tether said it completed its first full financial audit with an unqualified opinion from KPMG. In the US, the S and P five hundred hit a fresh record, while the Turkish lira stayed near its historic low. Here are four things to watch today and tomorrow, from Saturday's bourse reopening to the situation in Hormuz. Today's verdict is clear, the risk premium won, because oil and domestic gold rose together. So the answer to that first question: your gold got pricier today on the Hormuz news, are you holding any?
